FAQ

Make an appointment

Patients are advised wherever possible to use our online request system – go to the homepage and click on “Consult With Your GP Online”. You will be asked to provide information about your need for an appointment and our team will aim to contact you within 24 hours. If you are unable to go online, please call our Reception Team who will take you through the online form. All requests are processed in the same way. Sometimes you may not need an appointment with a member of our team for your problem and will instead be signposted to the appropriate service for your need.

Order Repeat prescriptions

Repeat prescriptions are issued at a doctor’s discretion, normally for people on long-term treatment. Patients can request a repeat prescription online using the NHS App or Patient Access service. Alternatively they can email [email protected]. Some local pharmacies can arrange to order your repeat medication on your behalf and they will contact us directly to do this.

We aim to process all requests for repeat prescriptions within 72 working hours. Please allow time on top of this for your nominated pharmacy to dispense your medications.

The majority of prescriptions are now sent electronically to a nominated pharmacy via a system called EPS. We will ask you to confirm your nominated pharmacy when ordering if we do not already have this information. To save on paper and printing, we prefer patients to use this service rather than to collect a printed prescription. New patients will be asked to complete a form indicating which pharmacy they wish to use.

We regret that our staff cannot accept requests for repeat prescriptions over the telephone.

Obtain Test Results

You can obtain your test results online if you have access or from our receptionists. Please allow a minimum of three working days to lapse and then phone 0117 301 2080 – option 2 after 2pm.

Note that the practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection and we will only release test results to the patient unless that patient has given prior permission for the release of this data to a nominated individual. If you would like someone else to be able to check your results on your behalf, please write/email the surgery to consent to this providing their details.

When you take your test you will be told how long it will be before the results are returned to the practice.

Request a Sick Note

Please remember that all employees can self-certify for the first seven days of illness.  A self-certificate is available online at: http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/forms/sc2.pdf or are available from your employer. Should you require a sick note to cover a period greater than seven days for a health problem that you have not been seen about, you will require an appointment with one of our team. Should you require a sick note extension, you can submit a request for this using the “Consult With Your GP Online” function on our home page, or by emailing [email protected]

Disabled Access

Our premises are fully accessible to the disabled. The practice has a hearing loop installed for patients who require this facility. Please ask at reception for this to be switched on for you. If you require any additional assistance, please ask at reception.
